You can either upload a safety data sheet or insert a link to the product. VARSL will then help find and compile the relevant information so it can be displayed directly on the product page.
This makes it easier for your customers to find the information they need — and easier for you to keep track of your products.
Who is VARSL Self-Service for?
VARSL Self-Service is ideal for webshops that have a smaller number of chemical products or an ongoing need to create individual products with CLP information and safety data sheets—and that want to manage which products are created themselves through a straightforward process.
If you have a few products that require additional safety information, Self-Service can be an easy way to get started without having to scan the entire webshop first.

How VARSL Self-Service works
VARSL Self-Service is built to be as simple as possible.
You start in VARSL’s customer portal, where you create the product you want CLP data and a safety data sheet for.
You can create the product in one of two ways:
1. Upload a safety data sheet
If you already have an SDS data sheet for the product, you can upload it directly in the customer portal.
VARSL analyses the safety data sheet and extracts relevant CLP information, which can be used for display on the product page.
This can include, for example, hazard pictograms, signal words, H statements, P statements, information from the safety data sheet, and a download link to the SDS file.
2. Insert a product link
If you don’t have the safety data sheet ready, you can instead insert a link to the product.
VARSL uses the product information to identify the product and find relevant information where it’s available.
This makes it easier to move forward, even if you don’t have all documents gathered from the start.
This happens directly in the customer portal.

1: Do I need to have the safety data sheet myself?
No, not necessarily. You can either upload a safety data sheet or insert a product link. If you upload an SDS, VARSL can extract relevant information from the document. If you use a product link, VARSL will try to find relevant product data based on the available information.
2: What does the VARSL widget show?
The widget can show relevant CLP information such as hazard pictograms, H statements, P statements, and a link to download the safety data sheet.
3: Do I need to be able to code to use the solution?
No. VARSL Self-Service is designed to be easy to use. You get a widget link that can be inserted on the relevant product page. If needed, your webmaster or web partner can help with the insertion itself.
4: Can I use Self-Service for many products?
Yes, but if you have many chemical products, VARSL Full Service will often be a better solution. Here, VARSL scans the entire webshop and gathers the products found in the customer portal.
5: Can the information be kept up to date?
Automatic updates can be added, so VARSL helps continuously maintain CLP data and safety data sheets.
