Who is responsible for correct CLP labeling and SDS?

It is always the company that markets or sells the product that is responsible for ensuring that the CLP label and SDS are correct and up to date. VARSL helps you ensure that you meet that responsibility automatically.

No. According to the CLP and REACH regulations, safety data sheets (SDS) must always be in the official language of the country where the product is sold. In Denmark, SDS must therefore be in Danish.

No. CLP is about classification, labeling, and packaging, while REACH regulates registration and safety data. VARSL handles both areas via updated SDS and correct CLP data.

CLP data must be displayed directly on the product’s main page – at least one hazard pictogram, signal word, and H- and P-phrases. VARSL provides ready-made data fields for webshops or via API.

For online sales, hazard symbols, signal words, and H- and P-phrases must be clearly and visibly displayed directly on the product page. It is not enough to only link to a PDF – the information must be visible to the customer when the product is presented.

Yes, you are welcome to have an extra tab with detailed information, but the most important CLP elements (pictograms, signal words, H- and P-phrases) must always be visible on the product page itself.

VARSL monitors changes in CLP and REACH rules as well as product classifications. When new versions are released, old SDS are automatically replaced with the latest ones – so you always have valid documentation.

CLP-Helper automates CLP labeling and SDS management. You simply enter EAN numbers or import product data, and the system delivers correct hazard labeling and updated SDS – directly to your webshop.

No. VARSL and CLP-Helper are also used by manufacturers, distributors, and wholesalers. All companies that handle products with CLP requirements can use the system.

Yes. We offer both a flexible clip model (VARSL Go) for small needs and full subscriptions (Pro/Enterprise) for larger companies. You can always upgrade later.

SDS must be delivered free of charge to professional customers, no later than the same day the product is delivered for the first time. With VARSL, you can automate it – the system automatically sends the latest SDS to the customer in the correct language.

SDS must be in the official language of the country where the product is marketed.

  • In Denmark, SDS must be in Danish.
  • In Sweden, SDS must be in Swedish.

How are SDS versions and history handled?

VARSL stores version data for each SDS and automatically replaces old versions. You always have the latest – without manual work.

According to the Danish Environmental Protection Agency, products without a valid SDS must not be sold. VARSL automatically finds and marks products that are missing SDS, so you can correct them.

When a supplier changes an SDS, VARSL registers the change and automatically replaces the old version.

Yes. The system can scan your entire product range, find missing CLP information, and update old SDS files.

Webshop integration typically takes less than one day. ERP/PIM integration depends on the system and data volume, but normally 3-10 working days.

Can I try the system for free?

Yes, you can try CLP-Helper for free for a limited period before choosing a subscription.

All subscriptions are invoiced once a year (12 months binding). Prices are shown per month for comparison.
